Finally learning ASL (American Sign Language)

If you will remember from an earlier post, I am interested in eventually serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.  I took my first step in that direction last evening by taking my first sign language class.

Granted, all I can really do at this point is on the level of telling you my name in sign, but it is a first step in the right direction.

Status of the practice

As those of you who have been following the development of my practice are aware, I usually just work Monday and Wednesday nights.  Keep tuned, however, as those nights are just about filled up, and I will be expanding into Thursdays during day time hours in the near future.  At this point I am waiting for my orientation period at the elderly job to come to an end so that I can be able to be consistent with Thursday appointments.

Status of openings

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to let you know that I am applying for Aetna and Cigna and should hear back in a month or two on those two insurances.  Right now here is the current information on insurance and fees.  I am currently working Monday and Wednesday nights, and about half of my hours are taken.  Once the other hours are filled, I plan to try to expand my hours of availability.  If you would like to discuss setting up an appointment, please contact me at this page.
